The BBC’s Dhruti Shah reported on “Five animals to spot in a post-Covid financial jungle” including, of course, the gray rhino. in an article published April 6, 2021.
“The grey rhino is the big, obvious, scary beast with a horn pointed straight at you that gives you a choice of what to do: get trampled, get out of the way, or harness its strength,” Gray Rhino & Company founder and CEO Michele Wucker told the BBC. “The grey rhino is important because it focuses on the future, unlike the black swan which is only visible in hindsight so doesn’t give you a chance to head it off.”
The article included other, lesser-known beasts like Hamsterkauf (panic buyers and hoarders), lemming investors (who get caught up in the crowd), stag investors (who like to make a hot deal and quick buck before running off), and “wolf warrior” diplomats.
